So a bit of good news and to catch up newcomers to this blog what was going on today. I had received a bench warrant arrest request and had my license suspended while in the hospital for not showing up for court. My husband tried to contest both tickets but they wouldn't let him because his name wasn't on them. He even told them I was in the hospital from the wreck. They said I had to do it in person. However I was in the hospital for almost 4 months and couldn't "show up". 

I met with the Assistant City Attorney today with my mom. By the way, their entrance, security system, and exit and seating are NOT handicap or wheelchair friendly. I found that odd since it was a City Building. About the Assistant City Attorney though. He seemed like a nice enough fellow....and the good news is that they dropped the bench warrant and reinstated my license. The next step is that I have to show up to either a "formal or informal" hearing with the City Attorney, Officer, and me - in about a month. I still think I should have an attorney with me at this thing coming up. I found out though that both tickets are civil infractions and NOT punishable by jail time according to him. Either way, I don't want them on my record, because of all the puzzle pieces we have. So, for now, today - I take a breath and focus on the next Chapter of this journey.
