Finding the 1%

Hello Friends and Family,

We have been back home for two and a half months now. The good people at Craig did a great job in preparing us for a new life full of new challenges. Despite equipment malfunctions, power outages, medication schedules and medical supply mishaps, we seem to be staying on top of it.[...]

Gracie's Surprise Visit

Gracie got a surprise visit from Alex and Denea. Alex, an RN, and Denra, a CNA, are two of the staff from Craig Hospital that worked with Gracie while she was here, and with whom she has a special friendship. This was a complete surprise to Gracie, and a wonderful one at that. Gracie has been able to get our of the house each day with them, and it's the best thing that has happened to her since she got home. It's also been an extra special blessing to Bill and I to see Gracie so happy, and to have such a great reason to get out and about.[...]

Thank You! / Looking For Airline Miles

I wanted to put a quick thank you out there for all of the help we have received from so many people. The meal train has been wonderful.... at first I wasn't sure we needed it, but it is so great to be able to have something healthy, and even the leftovers are great. Other things like groceries and driving Emily to school has been such a blessing. We even got dinner from one of Bill's favorite restaurants in Moorpark (Wood Ranch). Thanks again for all that everyone is doing![...]

The Signs and Flamingos Were Awesome... Thanks for Everything!

The Fisher family would like to thank everyone for the signs and flamingos that adorned our front yard upon Gracie and Debbie's return home. They made our drought stressed lawn pop with color! We have also been enjoying the meal train and the excellent food provided to our family. We loved Craig Hospital, but you don't go for the food! We owe a debt of gratitude to the people of Craig. They will always hold a special place in our hearts.

It's nice being home and nice for Gracie to see her friends before they go off to college. We also appreciate all the hard work and support that neighbors, friends and even complete strangers have given us over these last several months. Little by little we hope to get reunited with family and friends as we transition into post-rehabilitation life. We hope to catch up with all of you soon.

With Love and Gratitude,

Bill, Debbie, Gracie and Emily[...]

Gracie's Back Tomorrow!

Gracie will be returning to Santa Barbara tomorrow (Tuesday) around mid-day! I know that Gracie and Debbie are anxious to finally get home.

If you have made a Welcome Home sign and have not yet dropped it off, you can take it over to Ashley Fox this evening, or drop off your sign directly at the Fishers Tuesday morning. There will be people helping to put up the signs, but I don't know exactly what time yet, so you can just leave them in the driveway in front of the garage if you get there before them.[...]
