Day 45
Joe's been doing pretty well. Overall, has been energetic and feeling good. Taking walks inside and outside the house. He has noticed his back starts to hurt pretty quickly, but after a fairly short rest, he can get back up and walk some more. Vitals have been pretty good, but blood pressure has started to go back up a bit so he's back on his meds there. Nothing new, we were just hopeful the blood pressure would stay down enough that he wouldn't have to start his meds again.
When I asked him how he was feeling, he said Friday he felt "WONDERFUL", Saturday not quite as good, and Sunday seemed to be pretty good. He seemed a little tired but continues to be in very good spirits.
He did have a very busy birthday weekend. Helping mom make two desserts for the big family birthday yesterday (Chris and Joe both have birthdays this month). He also had full responsibility for making Ham Hock & Beans and Chicken Fried Steak. Both were delicious! He did get some fun birthday presents including two guitar stands so he can start playing with his music again, new Cabela's hats, warm socks to keep his toes extra warm and a Vitamix blender.
This week will continue to be status quo - on the agenda: resting and fixing the sewing machine. Saturday, I'll be at the house to start to tackle the garage with him -- We'll see how that goes!
Next week he goes back to see the regular Oncologist. He hasn't seen him since before the Stem Cell Transplant.
Thanks for your continued prayers and support. It's working!!!
God Bless!
