Day 52 - And a Doctor Appointment
All good news! Joe saw his regular oncologist today and got a very good check-up. No major blood draws - too early for that. But did get a shot to strengthen his bones. Good vitals and the doctor was very impressed with how well he is doing. We did talk to the doctor about his back pain and he suggested he go back to see the pain specialist just to get his opinion.
Doctors orders are to keep resting, stay healthy, come back in 30 days to get another bone strengthening shot (but not to see the doctor). Too early to start "working out at a gym", but lots of walking is in order.
Next up: He goes back to see his primary care next week for just a regular non-cancer check-up, then mid-December has the bone marrow biopsy at Day 100 (Graduation Day) to see if this process has worked. He returns to see the regular oncologist at the end of December and if everything is headed in the right direction, will be put on a low dose maintenance drug for the next couple of years.
If you're in the area, he can have visitors! Feel free to stop by the house. Make him take a walk with you down the street :)
Thanks for your continued prayers and support!
God Bless.
