Nov 6 (Tuesday) -- 5pm
This afternoon Sam, Rich, Joyce, Sully, and were chatting with Jeannette. She's already off of the morphine drip, and her new leg has been through a two hour workout and its all working. They've kept her in the bed today, partly because some of those numbers needed adjusting. The big news is NO MORE GOWNS, YIPEE! That's right, the latest doctor's orders have eliminated the need for the rubber gloves and yellow hospital gowns for visitors. Another mark of progress of course, but more than that, we can look "cool" again. I am so used to seeing everyone in yellow that it seems odd now not to see us dressed that way.
Rich was trying to force the hospital food to Jeannette, but he's got two things working against him. First, there is Jeannette's stubbornness and second, it's HOSPITAL FOOD. I'm thinking a crab feast or a Lucky Wishbone fried chicken run may be in order at some point. There is a little post surgery nausea today, but that's very common after any surgical procedure so it's not a big concern. All in all things are good, and we were just good friends and family sharing good times.-John
