Sitting at home, very early in the morning, I find I am wide awake for a multitude of reasons. At the top of the list is probably the jet lag from a recent trip to the orient, but also there is the news and anticipation of this day that I want to pass to those of you who come here to catch the latest. When I saw Jeannette earlier today to me she looked like her trooper self--Rich was there watching everything, monitoring the doctors and the nurses as they go about their daily tasks.
Today the all important surgery is scheduled to repair the left leg, and compared to many of the other surgeries this one seems very 'mechanical' but that doesn't mean it's routine. I don't think anything is routine! But they clearly know where the problem is, and exactly what has to be done to fix it, and with a clear plan in place it just needs to get done. I believe the timeframe is that things will really start happening around 1130a, and it will be done when it is done. I'll try and make the update later, once the news is there to say. During our brief visit this morning Sully and I had a great chat. Rich had just completed giving Jeannette a shower, and her hair was looking great and she was feeling good too. I'm hoping the leg repair is a breeze, and she's up playing golf in a few days. WELL…ok….maybe we can wait on the golf game, but you get the idea. Everything to me seems related---if you can fix the leg and get rid of the pain there, then it won't hurt to get out of bed, so you can exercise. And if you can exercise you can work up an appetite, and build up your muscles, which makes you feel better and in turn get stronger and want to eat more. And so on it goes….
Keep the prayers coming…. John
