Sully and I just got home from our visit with Jeannette and Rich, and I thought I would make an update, since when I last wrote "...More to follow when more is known…." I sort of left people hanging.   Still, as it stands, there is not a lot of news really, but to me, the layman in all of this, Jeannette looks good, and that's the bottom line on where things are.    Rich is still keeping the nurses on task.   The exciting news to me that I can report is that her leg continues to improve, and the post-surgical analysis appears to be that the bone fix has been a grand success.   She was even doing stairs the last couple of days, and walking some more, and I honestly think if there were no other issues she would already have been on her way home.

There appears to be one tiny microscopic problem that has to be sorted out.   Apparently there is some sort of very small "leak" that has appeared, and its a concern but the doctors seem to be going slowly and evaluating all of the options there.   My gut feel is they have beaten back the infection that cropped up the other day, and Rich reports the areas of pink/redness that had appeared a few days ago are all gone now, so the antibiotics must be doing the trick there, although the doctors have indicated they need to complete a "culture analysis" which will happen in the next day or so.   I guess that allows them to target things with the right antibiotics.    All in all, I just want her to get well so bad, and she is so patient and so upbeat when I see her that it's clear the nurses enjoy having her as a patient.  Clearly, a lot of people they work with in the hospital aren't in such great spirits.

Keep the prayers coming.    From my perspective, the big unanswered item that is keeping her in the hospital right now is this apparent "microscopic" hole where no hole is wanted.    As soon as they can figure that out I'm thinking she will be off to Willow.   I think it would be great if the hole just healed spontaneously-- and perhaps it will.   I'll close this update with this, that Jeannette looks really good, Rich seems to have things sorted out and is on top of "all things medical."   The other things I noticed, is that he knows all of the nurses by name.

The last news item worth reporting this evening is that Jeannette has moved rooms--she is now on the 4th floor in Room 456.
