Dec 30 (Sunday) - EARLY morning update (0100am)

Rich returned from the hospital after spending the day there with Jeannette, and is temporarily staying the night here before heading back to the hospital later this morning.   The news is really good -- apparently a lot has changed since this evening, and the IV has done magic in only a few hours, resetting her critical blood numbers.    Her magnesium and calcium levels were two of the biggest problems, and they are all back in the normal range and she's feeling much improved.

Rich reports that the color has returned to her face, the "shakes" she had been having have totally disappeared, and her recent bouts with "double vision" are all over with.   The bottom line is she is feeling refreshed and incredibly better!   In fact, they removed her from the ICU and into a regular room on the 2nd floor before Rich left, so that's a clear indicator that she's doing well and no longer in the crises mode.

As for the eating problem, the news is even better, because apparently they tried some new medications that magically brought back her appetite too.   For dinner tonight she ate chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and TWO helpings of ice cream and TWO glasses of ginger-ale!!!    So, as I finally turn out the light and head for sleep, the news is clearly good and things are stabilized and moving in the right direction.   - John
