Sept 21 (Friday) - midnight

I am writing this update from Seattle; as I spend the night here at the airport waiting for a 6am flight back to Alaska.   As such, I do not have any specifics for a "news filled" update, since I was not in Alaska and I did not make any visits today.   Yet even so my mind has been there with Jeannette and Rich, and from what I have been told I can honestly write that Jeannette has had another good day, continuing to surprise her doctors and making steady progress in the right direction. Yesterday and today the weather finally improved somewhat, and she was able to make an expedition out of her room and down to the lobby, where the sun was shining.    In the big scheme of things going outside might not seem all that huge of an event, but oh it is!

But the big news for everyone following this site is that during her venture out today a couple of pictures were taken, and she wanted me to share these with you, her many friends.   They alone perhaps say far more than any words could express in some all written web "update."   The big thing that is crystal clear in both of them is her big smile, the steadfast commitment to getting well and her drive and tenacity to return to where she was.    We all know Jeannette is a very tough woman, but that's the biggest understatement I've ever written.   She continues to inspire her friends and her medical team every single day.

In the pictures you can see the yellow "gowns" they make us all wear, and that bothersome neck brace she has to deal with until her vertebra can heal.   But she doesn't let it slow her down, and every single day there is progress being made.   Her right bandaged arm is looking much better too, and its oh so great to see her with her medical team doing oh so well.    Enjoy the pictures!   Doesn't she look grand? - John
