Bonus Week
Yesterday was supposed to be Folfiri round #5 but a low neutrophil count indicated otherwise. The low-end of a "normal" neutrophil count would be 1600 and they will usually give chemo unless you're under 1000. I was just over 1000 before my last treatment and yesterday's labs were down to 165. Know what that means? BONUS WEEK! We ended up going out for lunch and frozen yogurt instead of chemo.
We will try again next Monday and see how much my counts have improved. It sounds like no matter what, I'm going to have Neupogen shots next week to hopefully promote some improvement. First time giving myself a shot—or more likely asking Di to give it to me. The panitumumab rash has reared it's ugly head but is starting to improve with the help of antibiotics.
On another note, my CEA dropped from 276 to 200. I'll take that along with a bonus week of recovery as a positive sign!
