Home... Again :)

Hey everyone it's Jamie. I just saw my last post and this one will seem quite similar... today we are home!

Mom was hospitalized on Mother's Day/her birthday. She was no longer responding to the medicine she was on and was taken on a stretcher. They immediately took her off of that medicine and she was admitted to the hospital that night. They stopped using that one and spent the last week and a half trying to find the best solution for pain management.

As you may remember form earlier posts, a full recovery from her surgery earlier this year could legitimately take years so right now we are trying to manage the pain the best we can. The best way I can think to explain it right now is using the term "chronic pain." This isn't something like a cold or even a broken limb where the doctor says "Oh! I see this injury daily, here's what we're going to do, here's how long it'll take." Without sharing every detail, mom is currently suffering from chronic pain and it could be a while before things are "back to normal."

However - in Christ, there is ALWAYS hope!

Mom and dad met with a new doctor this past weekend who is very hopeful about mom's future and quality of life. He does not want to perform any more surgeries, right now, but instead is looking forward to a more holistic approach making sure that all organs are cooperating and functioning as they should. He has prescribed a pretty strict regimen that may take a few weeks to really start kicking in. I don't really know how to explain this but because of other health challenges it won't be easy adjusting to this regimen so we would love your prayers especially over the next 30 days which is about when her follow up appointment is.

Thanks for everything, everyone :) You're awesome.

Please remember it's exciting that mom is back home and she is not where she was on May 11 so we are definitely thankful :) but this doesn't mean that everything is perfect or "better." I know it's not easy to hear, but we don't know the future... we don't know God's plans... we don't know what He's up to... we believe He heals but we know that His plans are always greater than ours.

We continue to pray, we continue to hope and continue to have Faith and right now my mom continues to fight. I actually happened across an incredible article on chronic pain the other day.

PLEASE if you know my mom, at all, just at least read the three sentences in bold by clicking here: http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/turning-straw-gold/201405/3-things-the-chronically-ill-wish-their-loved-ones-knew?fb_action_ids=10203097518451365&fb_action_types=og.likes It's very eye opening. (Also it's written by a Buddhist so um just know I didn't like write it... :)

Things to pray for:

-Emotional strength

-Dad as he goes back to work (he has been by mom's side nonstop at the hospital...)

-Less muscle spasms/more strength to walk

-This new regimen!!!
