Laura's Treatment Update- April 8

Hello, everyone! Thank you for your continued prayers, love and support. They are such a blessing, and I appreciate you so much! Your prayers are making a difference. Time for a little update. Ed and I have been in Portland at OHSU for inpatient and outpatient chemo this past week, and it has gone well. Have had 3-5 hour sessions twice a day on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We head home tomorrow, the 9th.[...]

Treatment Update

Hello, everyone! Thank you for your continued prayers, words of encouragement, love and friendship! Our week of chemo at OHSU last week went well, with no complications.  Ed was and is, an amazing, patient, and faithful caregiver and helpmeet. I am resting and recovering at home now, anxious to get out into some sunshine as soon as we have some! Blood counts will go down very low after chemo, and then we will watch them come back up by the end of the month. On March 29, we will meet with our doctor to hear the future treatment plan. Thank you for your prayers in that regard.[...]

Greetings and Update

Blessings to all. Your words of encouragement and prayers are such a blessing to me! I appreciate each of you. I am home resting and recovering this week and next, and it has been such a blessing. Here is an update: We had great news at our doctor appointment this week when we were told that I have made a "robust recovery!" after chemo in regards to my blood levels. The most important blood levels are now in the normal range, and have risen there quicker than expected. I will have another bone marrow biopsy next week on the 23rd to make sure all leukemic cells are gone (I believe in Jesus' Name they are gone!) and will return to OHSU on the 29th for 7 days of chemo, round 2. Thank you for your continued prayers, love and support. You are loved and appreciated![...]

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts!

Happy Valentine's Day to all! I am reminded of His steadfast love for each of us, and am thankful for all of your prayers, love, scripture-sharing and encouraging words! It is such a blessing to be recovering at home for 2 or 3 weeks. Ed drove us to the coast yesterday, and that as always, was a blessing. I am always reminded of His constant love for us as I gaze on the the never-ending waves. My body is growing steadily stronger and I am encouraged by His healing touch and constant presence. Thank you, everyone![...]

Hello from Laura

Good morning, and blessings to all! Philemon 1:4 says: "I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers." Each and every person sending words of encouragement, prayers, scriptures, and love is appreciated, and prayed for! Praise report: After 7 days, today will be the last day I am receiving 24 hour chemotherapy via IV, at least for this round. Yay! We had one day of some nausea, but overall, everything has gone well. It has been a joy to get to know the staff around me by name, and encourage them. The Lord God has been, and remains, close by and forever faithful.[...]

A Note From Laura

From Laura: Hello, everyone. Thank you so much for your support and prayers! Ed and I appreciate so much the work of our children Heather, Matthew, and Harmony in taking over communication for us, sending the email from the family and setting up this site. I want you to know that I will be reading your words of encouragement, and from time to time, you may receive updates from either myself or my family regarding this journey.[...]
