Dear Friends, Family, Colleagues and Supporters of Rocco.
The surgery on the first tumor was successful. We will meet with the Surgeon next week to see the before and after pics and discuss it all in more detail. Rocco continues to recover quietly at home. He is reading a ton, enjoying watching DVRs of past Jeopardy episodes and relaxing. We go for daily walks in the neighborhood. We are preparing ourselves for the days and weeks ahead because we know there is still much work to do to tackle the second tumor that is tougher to reach surgically. Classes begin tomorrow as to what to expect with Chemo and Radiation treatments. We are focusing now on honing in on the VERY BEST TREATMENT OPTIONS ON THE PLANET. We will go wherever we need to go, we will look under every rock there is to tackle this situation head on (no pun intended). As I type this, we are in touch with researchers in the field, top clinicians, current patients going through this around the country and those who have already walked this path and done their homework ahead of us. All of these connections will inform us in making the right decisions based on the specific pathology of the tumor (still waiting on that). The first treatment begins as soon as he is strong enough. He is on a fast track for the first round locally. We will waste no time. Meanwhile, I will drink often from the hot morning elixir in my superhero mug! Rest assured, we got this. Denise, thank you for this update AND, I have been trying to figure out how I can best assist and your update has brought the answer: Research! Thank you, Denise, for keeping us informed. Big hugs to you and Rocco and Kendall. We send our love, hope and optimism. The more I read this website, the more amazed I am at who Rocco is and how many lives he touches every day. Stay the course.
