Hi Everyone from Sam and Maryann...

We would like to first give a huge thanks to John Dieffenderfer for getting this site started and for so diligently updating with new posts. He has worked hard to ensure all of you have the information we know you so want along with making it easier for us and the ICU staff to focus on what we need to do.

Maryann just left Rich a little while ago. He is doing well but is having a restless evening. This is common with concussions as they recover and is not worrying. They’ve given him some medication to keep him calm and help him rest. A wonderful woman with the hospital is sitting with him this evening. As a cute side note - Maryann, Joyce, Sully and I spent the afternoon with Rich. When we were getting ready to leave and were saying bye to Rich, he puckered his lips. We all lined up gleefully and were each given goodbye kisses!

I just left Mom a little while ago. She continues to amaze her doctors with her tenacity. The doctors and nurses are still working to keep her blood pressure up and Jeannette is trying to do her part. As John mentioned earlier, the next 24 or so hours are important for her.

Maryann and I would also like to say how appreciative we are of the superb and dedicated care of the medical teams treating Jeannette and Rich. On Thursday night, they flat out saved both of their lives. In Jeannette’s case, this continues to happen. Their ongoing work and skill are ensuring Rich’s continued progress and improving Jeannette’s chances as each hour passes.

Finally, thanks to all of you for your love and prayers for Jeannette and Rich and for the amazing outpouring of love and support you’ve shown us.
