2 October (Tuesday) 1130

Jeannette is doing great. Right now she is in occupational therapy with Ty.  She is working her left hand. Ty may have the "upper" hand but Jeannette is more than a match in the verbal battle of wits. It is really fun to watch and listen in. Jeannette's hand was shaking a little bit and Ty claimed it was afraid of him!  Jeannette soon straightened him out.  

Earlier, Jeannette was practicing one armed push-ups and butt slides in moving from the bed to a throne.  Since the catheter is out, she is working on arm and core strength to assist her in being able to maneuver herself. Ahna, Sandra and Jessica, the PT and nurse team, were very proud of Jeannette 's ability and increasing strength.  Sam is calling her "Lefty" because she has such dexterity now in that left hand. 

Rich is due in for a visit at 1230. He is starting to think about a vehicle and is going car shopping with Sam soon.  

Jeannette was astounded yesterday to return to her room from PT and see that a flock of the rare Alaskan Flamingo had landed in the tree outside her room. Thanks to Glordine for the biggest smile of the day. 

Breaking news!  Erika has come to visit and it is before noon!
