15 August 5pm

The latest with Jeannette's right wrist is this: she is wearing a brace, it hurts pretty bad, X ray scheduled next Thursday, the previous surgeries were such that all the hardware is keeping everything aligned. The story about the broken ulna was due to the staff reading an X ray result from the accident!  There are so many small bones, they can't really tell yet if anything is really broken. The plan is to keep it immobilized and wait. No surgery. Jeannette is in good spirits and she had good physical and occupational therapy. [...]

14 August 7:30pm

Rich just called to report that Jeannette slipped in the shower today, fell and appears to have a broken ulna.  The radius has a plate in it so that was evidently not affected but alas, poor chick, she has a busted wing!  Stay tuned for more info tomorrow.  The Drs have not yet determined the course of action.  She is still in St Elias. Rich promised to call with any news so, when he does, we will issue an update. Sully[...]

5 August Monday

Jeannette has had a good day at PT.  She did a high speed march around the ground floor.  Her strides were just like pre-accident!  Everyone is impressed with her determination.  She was grateful for all the visitors this weekend. Rich said it was impossible to squeeze into the room!  Rich is looking forward to a golf date with Ryan on Friday. When he suggested bringing in a golfclub for PT/OT, Ty the Terrible ( therapist) thought it was a great idea. It will help Jeannette's grip strength and balance. Still awaiting word from Dr George on scan results. Jeannette is all taped up and ready for a shower. She did a standing shower all by herself the other day and was pretty proud of it. Keep the prayers coming. [...]

3 August Saturday 5pm

Greetings from Jeannette. If you don' t know, Jeannette is back in St Elias, Room 206.  She has been there for 3 weeks resting up and hoping that a small hole in her ostemy reversal will heal. Visitors are always welcome. She is in great spirits and has been doing PT and OT everyday. On Thursday, she had a scan to see if the hole is closing and is awaiting Dr George's reading of results.  Hopefully, she will know something on Monday and can plan her escape back to Willow. Rich took a short break last week and headed to Oshkosh with Kevin. He returned last night.  Jeannette says keep the prayers coming and keep the faith. She is certainly doing both. [...]
