FOLFIRI Day #1 - or should I say full fury?

What a busy weekend!  Ellie performed in Seussical Jr. on Friday night.  Di and Ellie enjoyed a Saturday full of wedding shower parties and an evening at American Players Theatre.  Dad and I (mostly Dad) pressure washed the back deck on Saturday, followed by my successfully and sneakily paying his bill at dinner.  Erik and I watched the Frolic fireworks from the back yard.  We became the proud owners of two over-priced under-stuffed animals from the Frolic midway.  Ellie marched in the Frolic parade and then we all trekked into Madison to hang out at Maddie's graduation party.  We went home and enjoyed dinner on the back porch before sending Ellie off to Washington D.C. a little past midnight.  Needless to say, we shall sleep well tonight.

FOLFIRI (hereafter to be called full fury) day #1 went well with the exception that I puked DURING treatment for the first time ever.  It came on quickly and no sooner was I able to press the nurse call button, I had to make a dash for the trash can.  We stopped the infusion for about a half-hour and then finished it without issue.  My file has been marked...Next time I get the premium anti-nausea meds right up front.  :)

The chemo pump that I was sent home with is a LOT different than the one I had with FOLFOX back in 2011.  This pump is about the size and shape of a grenade...It's perfectly silent and doesn't need batteries.  I wear it like a fanny pack and it uses vacuum pressure to regulate how fast the 5FU is administered into my body.  I will go back on Wednesday to have it disconnected.

I've been tired most of the day and was able to take a good nap in the car during the drive home.  Radiation treatment went without a hitch.  Nausea hasn't come back yet but the meds they gave me after I puked have not worn off yet...We'll see what happens later tonight.

Thanks for checking in!

Hate when that happens, Korby. Puking is not fun. You are such an amazing person. Feel better soon. Love you......

Hope you are sleeping well tonight ! Just a few things going on this past week plus Full fury! We loved the Seussical and seeing those amazing Middle Schoolers perform. The DC travelers will have stories to share when they return. Prayers for the Full Fury Road and that those anti nausea drugs help. Diane T.
