Happy Drugs! :)
Hi! It's Di. As Korbin said we did have a wonderful time in Florida, and I'd love to go back right now!
Korbin has been having some pain in his back and side for a few weeks now, and we were controlling it ok at home with various medications, however he has been needing more and more of some of them to keep it under control. Tuesday we had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Huie, and as we were getting ready to go we pretty much used all the "good stuff" we had and the pain was still there. So after talking to Dr. Huie, we admitted Korbin to the hospital to find better ways to control his pain. They gave him a button to push when he needs it, and he's resting so much better now! He got a good nights sleep last night, and starting today we'll wean him off the stuff he can only have in the hospital and find something for him to use at home. He'll be there tonight for sure, and I'm not sure how soon he'll be home after that. Hopefully by the weekend.
The kids are keeping very busy- Ellie is enjoying the Middle School Musical and Science Olympiad, and Erik has been enjoying whatever soccer practices he gets to. We are once again reminded of how blessed we are to live so close to Madison, and by having such amazing family and friends near!
I'll update again when we get to take him home. (It'll be wonderful when Korbin is home for Barry the cat to wake up in the middle of the night instead of me!)

So glad you all got to have some time in the sun in Florida. It sounded like a wonderful trip. Sure the kids loved it but sounded like adults had some fun there too and that is a very good thing. Sorry he has to be in the hospital but how wonderful that he got to sleep last night and that the pain is being managed for now. That is so helpful to get a good nights sleep, almost as helpful as the florida sun, but not quite. Hope they can find a solution that works as well as the iv meds so he can rest at home and you can too. Take care, thinking about you all lots!
Wonderful sleep. I hope Korbin continues to get good sleep with some good drugs when he comes home, despite Barry's best efforts to keep him awake. I hope for good sleep for you, too, Di!
Thanks Korb and Di for the update sorry to you are in the hospital Korb but great news they have you on some drugs that let you get a good nights sleep. Hopefully you will be home soon and they will find something to help with the pain! Hope you Di can get some sleep! So glad you made the Florida trip so good for all of you!! Love and Prayers Aunt Sue and Uncle Marcus
Di: Thanks for the update. Sorry Korb has to go through this pain, but hopefully they will find a way to keep him comfortable. Sleep is so important!!! Do let us know when he gets to come home. Think of you and your family every single day and pray for you all, as well.
