11am Thursday update from Laura

It turns out the lengthy MRI Liza had yesterday included everything: her head, neck and spine. The doctors determined there has been no tumor growth and some of the hemorrhage area has decreased in size! More good news: Liza had no tumor cells in her spine or spinal fluid. And, another portion of her biopsy results were returned; those were negative for midline diffuse glioma! Now we await the remaining biopsy results to determine markers that are present and for our Sleeping Beauty Warrior to awaken.[...]

Laura’s 9:30pm Wednesday update

Liza’s brain worked overtime today. She rested quietly while the Athens army and others stayed by her side moving her body and sending her endless abundant love. She finally left for her first MRIs at 4:30 and returned at 8:30. The other MRIs should be tomorrow, but I don’t know when we will get results.
Please Prayer Warriors, pray for clear MRIs. Pray for Liza’s continued strength through this difficult week and for the tumor to SHRINK so that Liza can awaken prepared to battle on toward full recovery!

Laura’s noon update:

Between today and tomorrow, Liza will have her radiation treatments, as well as 4 MRIs, one for her brain, and three for her spine.
Lift up the BIGGEST prayers that those provide uplifting, hopeful images for Liza’s full recovery. Visualize the golden rays of radiation causing the tumor to shrink, shrink, shrink under the weight of our love for Liza and her potential to bless this world. ☀️🙏❤️💫[...]

Laura’s 10 pm Tuesday update

Sorry to keep you hanging, Liza Lovers. It got busy at shift change tonight.

Liza's radiation was early again. She had only a few responses today: an eyebrow raise for the doctor at noon and participation in tooth brushing this afternoon. Otherwise she was again Sleeping Beauty while keeping her airway strong. The highlight, which she seemed to have slept through, was "sunshine privileges" that included kisses from lap (therapy) dog, Phoebe.
We're still awaiting a date for the upcoming MRI; like a lot of things at the hospital, it may wait longer than originally scheduled.[...]

Laura’s 8pm Monday update

Liza’s day started with a 5am CT (no change) and then 10am radiation. Even though our hardworking AVL team had to say goodbye at noon, we are still basking in the love and support that they provided.
The afternoon highlight was a visit from Dr Q who feels that Liza is progressing exactly as expected (tired with minimal responses). The MRI later this week will provide more insight. [...]

Laura’s 9:30pm update Palm Sunday

Giving HUGE thanks tonight for good friends and prayers!!

Jack and I got much needed breaks and Liza received fabulous hands-on healing this weekend. I left the hospital at 8pm tonight feeling rejuvenated physically, mentally, and spiritually while Liza clearly appeared well-rested and well-loved. I move into this critical week fully optimistic and prepared to protect and provide for our Sleeping Beauty/Princess Warrior.
Please continue to pray FREQUENTLY and HARD for Liza's strength and ability to halt and destroy the tumor. [...]

Sunday morning from Laura

Not only is Semana Santa (Holy Week) upon us, it’s an important week for Liza’s treatment. The end of second week of radiation is often said to be the worst. Also at the end of this week, Liza will have an MRI to determine if radiation has inhibited the tumor’s spread. 🙏[...]

Saturday morning prayer from Mom

Dear God and Universe, Edie, and inner self (sometimes I summon the unconscious me),

Thank you for those who take time away from their own lives to be with friends and family in need, and thank you for the countless others who love and support from afar! Thank you for our planet that consistently provides life, beauty, and examples of resilience.
I pray that you recognize that this world needs Liza’s courage and compassion. Liza loves sunshine, sunsets, fresh air, beaches, and mountains. She loves animals and caring for our planet. God please see her potential to work for all that is beautiful in this world. [...]

7:30 update from Laura

Friday started out rough; Liza had lots of posturing without responses. It continued in spite of an extra long PT session (bc the nurse said there wouldn't be time to go outside). Little did I know that our doctor would make sure Liza did get outside. As a result she was exhausted for her 2pm EEG and 3:00 radiation. My friend and I took out my discouragement with Qi-Gong by a Mayo pond before later returning to Liza's room reinvigorated. Evidently Liza was feeling similarly and stopped posturing and even had energy for some toe wiggling and arm exercise. Tonight the AVL Calgary is "on duty" while we get out for a symphonic Earth show at the Florida Theater - thanks to Jack's former Durango roommate.[...]
