Brian's round of chemo treatment went really well this time.  He had no problems and even had a couple of friends from school visit.  They spent time down at Navy Pier and hung out watching a lot of movies.  We go to Duke on August 6th and have doctor appointments August 7th.  Thanks for your continued prayers and we ask that you continue to pray for safe travels and healing.[...]

Brian's blood work looked good so they started his chemo as scheduled on Wednesday, 7/11/18.  Brian got the phone call he was dreading this past week that due to his medical condition, they cannot allow him to continue in the ROTC program.  He is devastated beyond words but knows that God has a different plan for him right now.  Right now he is concentrating on getting back to school the middle of August.  We are thankful to God that he is continuing to fight the cancer and we're all trying to keep a positive attitude.  Your continued thoughts and prayers keep us strong.  Thanks to everyone for your support.  Here'a picture of our new addition to the family.  His name is Jim Beam![...]

MONDAY, JULY 9, 2018

Just want to give everyone an update.  Brian will start chemotherapy this Wednesday, 7/11/18.  They took Brian off of the steroids last time due to having a reaction so unfortunately, this time around he's been extremely tired even after treatment.  The steroid gave him energy so now that he's not on it, he's feeling the affects of chemo.  We're asking for your prayers that this round may go a little better as far as his energy level.  He sees the doctor tomorrow for blood work and we're curious to see how his levels are.  We go to Duke August 6 and 7th.  Thanks for all your support.  [...]

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27, 2018

Brian finished another round of chemo on 6/17/18 and all went well.  However, this time he was extremely tired the week following and is still trying to get some energy.  He'll go and get blood work on July 10th and depending on outcome, he will start next cycle July 11th.  He received confirmation from Rensselaer that he can return for classes this fall.  The official letter will go out in July and he'll then be able to register for classes.  He's doing a research paper for the final in order to close up one of his classes from last year.  Thanks to everyone for your continued prayers and support![...]

Our prayers have continued to be answered .... Brian had another good report today.  The brain is continuing to go back to normal, the tumor is still breaking down and the roots have become skinnier and much, much smaller.  His blood work looked good and chemo is on schedule for June 13th.  Here is a picture of Brian enjoying Smash Burger and he even had a chance to  visit  a former orchestra teacher from Conant.  He really enjoyed their visit.  We're returning home tomorrow and go back to Duke some time in August.  Thank you all for your continued support and prayers![...]

FRIDAY, JUNE 1, 2018

Well ... the time is here already again.  We leave for Duke this Sunday and meet with the doctors on Monday.  We're hoping with all your prayers and support that we will once again have good news that the tumor is shrinking and the cancer is dying.  This is a picture of Brian going to attend the commissioning ceremony (Navy graduation).  Two seniors asked him to be their first salute at the commissioning ceremony.  It was a great honor for Brian to be asked to do this.[...]

Brian's blood work performed a week ago was improved even better than the previous month.  He begins another round of chemotherapy tomorrow so we're once again reaching out for your prayers and continued faith that he does as good or better than he has been.  We return back to Duke on Sunday, 6/3/18 with our scheduled MRI and doctor's appointment on Monday afternoon.  We're leaving tomorrow to pack up his dorm room and move him into his new location for him to begin school again this fall.  Once again we don't what we'd do without everyone's continued prayers and good wishes.  You guys are all so supportive and encouraging and it means the world to us.  Thank you![...]

FRIDAY, APRIL 27, 2018

Brian just completed another round of chemo (finished 4/22/18).  They decided to put him on a low dose steroid which he started the day before treatment which definitely helped with hives that he had developed last month.  He has not gotten sick like he did the last 2 rounds of chemo.  So, hopefully this will help his overall side affects of chemo and health.  If all blood work goes well, his next round will start 5/16/18.  We return to Duke on June 4th and are hoping for continued good news.  Please don't forget us in your thoughts and prayers.  We really feel the power of prayer is working!  Thank you for everything you have done for us![...]

MONDAY, APRIL 9, 2018

We have great news to share with you all!  Brian's MRI looks better than the last one ... the tumor is continuing to shrink, his brain is continuing to heal and the doctors are more than happy with the way it looks.  The swelling is going down so well that they can see the folds within the brain.  The main body of the tumor is completely gone and the legs are continuing to shrink.  His blood work continues to look good.  The doctor agreed that God is looking out for him.  Our next visit is scheduled for June 4th and with all your continued prayers we're hoping things will only get better!  Thank you to everyone for all your support and prayers! [...]
