Brian finished his last radiation treatment today and they posted the above message on the schedule monitor when we walked in.  We're so thankful for how well Brian did throughout the treatments and what a trooper he continues to be.  We have a video of Brian striking a gong upon completion of his treatment but are having a little bit of trouble posting it.  More to follow ...[...]

Brian is doing well other than being tired and we're being extremely careful with all the flu going around.  Last weekend two of his buddies from ROTC made the drive from New York to spend a couple of days with him.  They had a really good time and Brian was very glad to see them.[...]

Friday, January 5th Mr. Kernats and Conant High School were kind enough to host a debate fundraising effort on Brian's behalf.  Brian was able to attend as presiding officer and commented that it was the most fun he has had at a debate and was grateful to have some normalcy at this time.  Current students debated against alumni and a good time was had by all.  The attendance was overwhelming and the outpour of support and generosity was amazing.  As it turns out, Friday was day 16 of Brian's 33 days of radiation and chemo therapy.  What a great way to celebrate his half-way point.  Once again, we cannot thank everyone for all that you have done for us.  We don't now what we would do without you.  We hope will post pictures of the fundraiser in the very near future.[...]

Today was Brian's 10th treatment ... so far so good.  He's feeling pretty good but still tired.  Brian's plan is to still show up at some point Friday, 1/5/18 at the debate fundraiser at Conant High School at 6:00 pm.  We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas.  We were able to spend time with both sides of our families so that was really nice.  We want to wish everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year!  Once again we are so grateful for all of your prayers and support.[...]

Brian started his radiation and chemotherapy on Wednesday.  Doing well but he is extremely tired.  His spirits are good and his sense of humor is still there.  He's constantly cracking us up.  Brian still has an appetite and we're praying that it stays that way.  He will see the oncologist every Monday.  Let's continue to pray for him to stay strong and healthy.  Count down is on ... 31 treatments left!  Go Brian Team![...]

As you all know, we went to Duke University yesterday.  Unfortunately, they couldn't start any trials with Brian at this time because it had been too long since his surgery.  They did not have enough time to run more tests prior to getting him into a trial and recommended we get him back to Northwestern to start radiation as soon as possible.  However, we have an open door to return if the need occurs.[...]
