Eden and I are sitting here together to write a short journal entry before bed. It's been a long day. Eden's staples are out! Yay! We also learned a lot about Eden's diagnosis, and we have some picture of the road ahead.[...]

Thank you so much for your love and support over the last few days. It has meant so much to Dan, my family and me. I feel like everyone is reminding me of who I am and I am soaking up all of your wishes and positivity and it's helping me to heal and feel like each of these big steps will go my way. [...]
There are pluses and minuses to being young, healthy, and in shape. Eden is recovering quickly and amazingly. That's a major plus. The negatives...pretty apparent. Way too young to be experiencing this.[...]
Big step today. We came home. To overstate how amazing it is to be home would be impossible. As I lay here in bed, Eden is asleep by my side, as comfortable as could be at this point. We are surrounded by family - Eden's sisters, Hillary and Libby; Eden's mom, Marilyn and my mom, Judy.[...]
Its the end of the first day after Eden's surgery. Today, she got up, walked around the ICU unit floor many times, climbed several flights of stairs, ate real food, and talked, slept, and smiled. Wow. Eden is really incredible. I'm not surprised, but I am awed.[...]
Yesterday was a long day that began at our house a little after 4am, check in at 5am, surgery at 7:30am. We're now about 24 hours post-op and Eden is doing very, very well. The tough stuff is the pain and nausea, but the staff have been helping her all day, all night, and she looks 1000% better to me this morning. The pain medication is rough on the tummy, so it's a balancing act between making her head feel comfortable and making her tummy feel comfortable. When it's in balance, she is peacefully resting, talking quietly, and happy to have a little quiet company.[...]
I'm sitting beside the person who makes me whole and she looks fabulous, just 12 hours after we woke up today, and just 5 hours after her surgery. Eden is resting comfortably, sleeping well, and is sparkling with beauty.[...]
Eden's surgery is over and everything went well. It's a good day.
Also, they've LOVED hearing from everybody. So nice. And texts are fine/great too.[...]
we woke up at 4 something and checked in at UW Medical Center at 5. Eden looks beautiful today and check in went smoothly. The team here is both highly competent and nice. She had a pre-op MRI, met the nurses and anesthesiologist and by 7:35, she was on her way to the OR.[...]
