Saying Hi

Levi continues to be very tired, needing additional transfusions yesterday and today.   He continues to have fevers and even though there isn’t a specific source for the infection that they can identify, he is being treated with antibiotics as his cells to fight off infection are quite low as well.  We are hoping that it all starts to clear up as his blood counts recover in the next few days.  [...]

Cuddle Party!

A little less activity for Levi for the last two days as he is feeling absolutely YUCKY!   Today he is having fevers again so they will look for a source of infection and hopefully get it under control soon.  Tummy aches and mouth sores and a whole bunch of stuff that chemo does to you all at once...  On days like this, the only thing to do is cuddle.  And luckily, Beth and Zack are always happy to throw a cuddle party.  [...]

Focusing on the Positive

Levi keeps pushing forward despite the ongoing vomiting and for the most part has continued smiling and cuddling (recently with his Police Bear) whenever possible.  He’s really tired, but always happy to talk about colors, animal sounds or his family.  So if he can focus on the positive, so can we.  So, here is our list of positives for this Sunday:[...]

Friday Dose of Cuteness

However, this was short lived as he preferred to watch paw patrol and rest.   We don’t blame you Levi.[...]

Uh Oh Spaghetti-Os

Levi had a good day yesterday, working with music therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. As the video shows, exercising his arms to knock balls off of his table has quickly become a favorite.   He laughs every time someone has to pick the ball up for him.  And being able to hear his laugh is definitely worth picking it up over and over.[...]

Working Hard

Levi worked really hard with his PT and OT sessions yesterday.  His team has come up with a lot of creative ways to get his muscles the exercise they need.   For example, he gets to play the drums with his feet which gives him a little extra motivation to lift them off the ground   You can tell from his expressions that it requires hard work and concentration, but at least there’s a little bit of fun mixed in![...]

Manic Monday!

Levi is being more responsive which means...  NO SURGERY.

Not completely out of the woods yet, but good things are happening. The doctors will still keep monitoring his shunt among other things to make sure he keeps moving along. For today, he has OT, PT, and a hearing test. Phew! Mondays, right?[...]
