Family Time and Celebrations

We enjoyed a mini family reunion in La Crosse for the 4th of July and celebrated some very notable milestones together.

It has been 15 months since this crazy journey started! Eric gained an ankle foort orthosis (AFO) this month to help support some right side muscle weakness and it has made a big difference. The AFO has allowed Eric to have longer walks in the neighborhood, time on the trails, and even some attempts at running in the driveway. The nieces and nephew were all very interested in his AFO and each took a turn trying it on. It was pretty cute seeing each of them stick their leg in his shoe and fasten the AFO around their upper thighs. [...]

A Journey Home

1 year ago, on his 46th birthday, Eric underwent his first neurosurgery and was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiform. 1 year! It feels a little strange to be acknowledging this milestone. So instead, our family is focused on celebrating Eric's birthday today and reflecting on the year. [...]

Week 51

Since the last update, things have been fairly busy for us. Mom and Dad Sullivan spent some time here with us, then we left for Hawaii on a trip-of-a-lifetime. Hawaii was full of sun, ocean-time, adventure, and wonderful friendship![...]

More Sullivans Invade Helena

Last week all the Sullivan siblings hit Helena.  This week Mom and Dad Sullivan traveled from La Crosse, Wisconsin to spend a few days hanging out with Eric and Johnanna , and Aspen pup. It was wintertime cold in both La Crosse and Helena, so we arrived with our usual mittens, hats, hiking spikes and long johns. Plus, we had been instructed to bring bathing suits for a trip to the hot springs.[...]
