Hi, it's Di again.
The pain that we have been trying to resolve is being very stubborn. We were unable to transition him from IV meds to oral meds and adequately give him good rest at the hospital, so we decided to try the weekend at the hospice in-patient short-term care center. Here they are able to give him a pump with stronger painkillers, and we will use that to try to level out his pain. Hopefully he can go home with the pump and we will have nursing support from hospice.[...]
Hi! It's Di. As Korbin said we did have a wonderful time in Florida, and I'd love to go back right now!
Korbin has been having some pain in his back and side for a few weeks now, and we were controlling it ok at home with various medications, however he has been needing more and more of some of them to keep it under control. Tuesday we had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Huie, and as we were getting ready to go we pretty much used all the "good stuff" we had and the pain was still there. So after talking to Dr. Huie, we admitted Korbin to the hospital to find better ways to control his pain. They gave him a button to push when he needs it, and he's resting so much better now! He got a good nights sleep last night, and starting today we'll wean him off the stuff he can only have in the hospital and find something for him to use at home. He'll be there tonight for sure, and I'm not sure how soon he'll be home after that. Hopefully by the weekend. [...]
It's good to be back home in snowy Wisconsin. :) We had a great trip last week! The new (to us) Harry Potter stuff between the two parks at Universal was amazing and we even got to ride the Hogwarts Express.[...]
Sorry it’s been so long since I posted. I am still on a chemo break. My body has been dealing with fatigue and pain in my abdomen.
I finished up my last day at work and was treated to an amazing lunch and celebration from an awesome group of co-workers and friends. I’ve spent the last week resting and getting fluids.[...]
