I'm radioactive. All systems go.

Radiation is done! Today marked the 15th and final treatment on my tailbone. Right now, I still have the annoying paIn in the butt. Dr. Howard thinks the pain will be gone in another week or two as the radiation continues to do its work and the side effects subside. Until then, my donut pillow/cushion continues to be my best friend. We will do follow up imaging in another 2-3 months to see how everything looks. This was a good week. I was able to go back to work part time for the first time since my surgery in April. I'll have another FOLFIRI treatment on Monday and with any luck we will do a better job managing the nausea this time. Happy Friday! Korbin

What a busy weekend!  Ellie performed in Seussical Jr. on Friday night.  Di and Ellie enjoyed a Saturday full of wedding shower parties and an evening at American Players Theatre.  Dad and I (mostly Dad) pressure washed the back deck on Saturday, followed by my successfully and sneakily paying his bill at dinner.  Erik and I watched the Frolic fireworks from the back yard.  We became the proud owners of two over-priced under-stuffed animals from the Frolic midway.  Ellie marched in the Frolic parade and then we all trekked into Madison to hang out at Maddie's graduation party.  We went home and enjoyed dinner on the back porch before sending Ellie off to Washington D.C. a little past midnight.  Needless to say, we shall sleep well tonight.[...]

My CaringBridge page and future journal updates

After four and a half years chronicling my journey on my CaringBridge page, I've chosen to start anew with PostHope.  I am grateful for the outlet that CaringBridge has given me—both as an author and reader—but I am finding myself less than in love with the direction and usability of their latest site and app redesigns.
