“A minor setback for a major comeback “, in the parlance of ECMO/ICU veterans like us :-).

Late last night while sitting comfortably an hour into the Dark Phoenix movie after kissing Walker goodnight as he was finishing dialysis, I receive a text from Candy “he has been transferred back to the ICU “. Before even finished reading I am up heart rate rising heading for the door. I literally ran out of Winter Park Regal and all the way to my car. Then I drove quickly back to FH. [...]

Last, scripture says you will never give one more hardship than one can endure, is there ever a time when you over shot the mark on that?[...]

Night and Day

A tale of dark and light, yesterday was my day, Dad, with Walker and it was truly an awful, dark day. From the start Walker was in panic mode with high pressures and we had a young male nurse that was inexperienced in dealing with a high anxiety situation. They had to push meds all day just too calm him down off the fence of I can’t breathe. This continued all day long with naps in between the panic for at least some rest but no movement at all in or out of bed :-(. I kept saying I just want this day to end.[...]

Hope and circumstances

After a horrendously challenging week of recovery issues that put us on the roller coaster downslope ( like the infamous  SheiKra drop), Walker is on the slow climb (like going up the long hill on SheiKra - the coaster that he rode I believe it was 16 times one day) to doing better. His body and mind have a very slow recovery setting which does not like being rushed much to his parents dismay.[...]
