Day 77- THIS IS LIFE NOW

The counts were low... very low.

So, instead of a simple heel prick and see ya later, we ended up spending the whole day getting a transfusion. I always panic over that small bag of red generosity like it's going to be something awful... always to find that the rosy cheeks and happier disposition at the end are totally worth it. With doctor's orders for 5 more days of shots, we finally got home almost 12 hours after we left. When am I going to learn my lesson and start packing that book I always mean to bring?[...]

Day 53- NO MORE HIDING

We got discharged late yesterday after finishing the last day of chemo. His pain seems to have gotten more managed, and now we are just watching and waiting for the next round. Making sure there are no signs of infection, administering his meds, and tracking his weight gain.[...]

Day 50- BEADS OF COURAGE

Chemo day 3. Red's starting to have a little nausea, which is to be expected. But he's still putting on weight which means he's doing alright and it's not concerning. For awhile the nutritionist wanted to add formula to his milk, and I had a lot of reservations that it was a good move for him as the once or twice that we did supplement seemed to only add to his vomiting. As long as he is consistently gaining weight though, we can keep on keeping on in the milk department. [...]
