Mon, 3/2/2015 2nd Chemo Infusion

Hello, My Rockstar Friends and Family!

 What a day! Chemo went well. It took an extra 3 hours because the clinic where I drew my blood on Sunday sent my labs to the wrong place. Whoops! So of course I seized the extra 180 moments and took more (many more!) pictures of the chemo room…in panoramic, in slow mo, and I even videoed the sound the infusion pump makes (exciting stuff)! But I didn’t take any pics of under the bed--because that would just be weird![...]

Tue, 2/17/15 Good Day

Thank you to you all for your amazing words of kindness and encouragement and especially your prayers. They truly help.

Today was good. Felt a little nausea at 3am, but just drank more (water!) and tried to sleep. Felt great in the morning. Took a prescribed steroid drug—supposed to help the chemo to work better. If I start growing a beard, I’m stopping! Of course, the steroid messes with my insulin but everything messes with my insulin so that’s not new.[...]

Tue, 2/17/15 Keeping cool!

This is my new “cool” look because of the high sensitivity to cold that the chemo causes:

I have to wear long-sleeved, high neck sweaters to cover my neck when I go outside. This is in addition to a warm coat with a big hood. I get to take the coat off when I come inside. Well, sometimes.[...]
