Tue, 2/17/15 Good Day

Thank you to you all for your amazing words of kindness and encouragement and especially your prayers. They truly help.

Today was good. Felt a little nausea at 3am, but just drank more (water!) and tried to sleep. Felt great in the morning. Took a prescribed steroid drug—supposed to help the chemo to work better. If I start growing a beard, I’m stopping! Of course, the steroid messes with my insulin but everything messes with my insulin so that’s not new.[...]

Tue, 2/17/15 Keeping cool!

This is my new “cool” look because of the high sensitivity to cold that the chemo causes:

I have to wear long-sleeved, high neck sweaters to cover my neck when I go outside. This is in addition to a warm coat with a big hood. I get to take the coat off when I come inside. Well, sometimes.[...]

Mon, 2/16/15 After 1st Chemo

My first-ever chemo infusion today went fabulously! Thank you so much for all your prayers!

It was a long day and not at all boring because they were in and out of my room so much there was never time to really chill. Glad to be home and eat dinner with the family. The girls have been amazing in helping to keep the house clean, doing laundry, and making meals. I am truly fortunate to have such wonderful kids/teens/offspring.[...]
