Gabriel was discharged this evening, PRAISE GOD!!!
Yesterday was a day full of activity in the 4th pod of the hospital....in particular rooms that were next to each other!!! The boys (cousins) played together, while the girls(friends) were in the room next door crafting!! The kids were LOVING their company!! Titi Yanira brought a special dinner with her family to end the day! We were surrounded by love...ABOUNDING in it! What most people don't realize is that with all of the kind words, expressions of love, prayers, meals, etc....you are ALL the hands and feet of JESUS! Carrying out HIS perfect will toward our family! Being used by The Lord....MIGHTILY! Helping us, bearing our burdens......making our load lighter.......there are no words to describe our deep appreciation.......[...]
A HUGE shout out to Megan Edmonds-Pillai (mom to some of the members of the band, Five Alarm Fire) for running Miles for Moffitt on Saturday....in honor of Natalia Sofia! Thank you for HONORING our daughter![...]
Gabriel's teacher, Mr. Durham, stopped by with beautiful get-well cards from Gabriel's classmates! He also read riddles and knock-knock jokes! He had the kids laughing at even the most silliest jokes! Gabriel LOVES HIM, and HE could not have been a more perfect fit for him this year (set-up by God)! Mr. Durham made his afternoon, and we are so grateful![...]
Some of the members of the group, Five Alarm Fire stopped by for a visit! They sang HAPPY with the kids![...]
For being his first Iv, he did great! What a trooper!! Sister felt so bad, because he had to go through that. Due to the fact that he couldn't watch ANY tv or play games, sister stepped in and entertained her brother all afternoon...until special visitors dropped by![...]
All week, Gabriel has been very tired, lethargic, with dizzy spells, feeling like passing out, and with a BAD HEADACHE. He has been out of school....RESTING....NO TV, NO COMPUTER, NO VIDEO GAMES.....NO READING...and the list goes on and on....Last night, he had an episode of confusion...with a massive headache, and almost passing out. I called his pediatrician this morning, and he admitted Gabriel to the hospital to be evaluated by a neurologist. Granted that I ALREADY had a room for Natalia(for chemo), BOTH kids were admitted, and have rooms next to each other![...]
Yesterday I got a call from the school nurse that Natalia's brother, Gabriel hit his head against a metal pole. Apparently during recess, in the midst of a "championship", he wanted to score the winning goal. After head butting the ball into the net....his head (right side) hit the post. He fell back on the back of his head, and does not recall if he made the goal or not. He experienced blurred vision, dizzy spells, and a massive headache. We took him to his pediatrician, and he failed the initial tests in his office....the doctor ended up sending him straight to the ER to get a CT of the brain and orbits, because there was swelling and some bruising around the eye.....[...]
